Miles Jennings was born about 1738,[1][2] in Goochland, Virginia. He is also thought to have been born in Halifax, Virginia.[1] He was the son of Miles Jennings and Nancy Thomas. He was the first child of seven known children.
He married Susannah Hanby in 1762, in Halifax, Halifax County, Virginia.[2]
Miles is mentioned as father of the bride in his daughter Hannah's 1779 marriage to George Taylor in Henry, Virginia.[3]
He died October 16, 1798 in Oglethorpe County, Georgia, at the age of 60, and was buried in the Jennings Cemetery, Vesta, Oglethorpe County, Georgia.[1] His will was probated on November 28, 1798 in Oglethorpe, Georgia.[4]
