Biography

Phebe is the daughter of Cyrenius Jennings and Mary Cuber. She was born in Warren County, Ohio after the Jennings family moved to that area sometime prior to 1800.

Phebe first married Washington McCallister in 1833. It is unknown what happened to McCallister. She then married Abraham Ross in November of 1836, whom she had a family with and moved from Ohio to Indiana, then Illinois, and finally to Kansas sometime in the 1870's.

She and Abraham would have seven children, the eldest being born in Indiana and the youngest in Illinois.

In Kansas would be her final resting place at the Duck Creek Cemetery, located in the Buxton area, west of Fredonia, Kansas.

Cyrenius died 18 Apr 1839 in Warren County, Ohio. His will lists his sons as David, Henry, Zephaniah, Levi, William, and John, and his daughters as Margaret, Salley, and Phebe. ^[1]

• Paternal relationship and maternal relationships are confirmed by a triangulated group on GEDmatch consisting of Marie Fortner, SF, and AG, who share a 18.95 cM segment on chromosome 6. The most-recent common ancestors shared by all three are Cyrenius Jennings and Mary Margaret Cuber.
