Her year of birth is unknown. She gave her age as 80 on an affidavit in 1845. She is reported as age 70 on the 1850 census. And she is reported as age 83 when she died in Oct 1859.

Nancy (named as Nancy Babb on the record) gave an affidavit on 15 Nov 1845 in Greene County, Tennessee with regard to the marriage of Nicholas Long and his wife Margaret. Nancy was age 80. Nancy stated that she knew Nicholas and Margaret in Botetourt, Virginia in Jan 1787 and for several years before that. She states that she and her husband, John Long, were married on 5 Jan 1787 in Botetourt and ate their wedding dinner at the home of Nicholas and Margaret Long, and that Nicholas Long was a full brother of John Long.^[1]
