Biography

Herbert was born in Idaho in 1897. He was the son of Jarvis Jensen and Emma Williams. He grew up and worked on his father’s farm. In 1918 he enlisted in the Army and served until 1920. After the War he returned to Idaho where he was working on his father’s farm in 1920. In 1924 Herbert married Anna Elizabeth Stoltz in Queens, New York and together they were parents of two children. They lived in Brooklyn in neighborhood of Anna’s family where Herbert worked various jobs, listed as a chauffer and a truck driver. He was living in Queens New York when he passed away in 1975 at 78.

Unable to find details about Herbert’s move away from his close family and church ties farming in rural Idaho to living in Brooklyn New York. Confirmed to be same Herbert Stanley Jensen as shown in New York censuses as born in Idaho, as a brother living in Brooklyn NY in Gerald Jensen’s 1958 obituary, and Herbert’s death index listing same bd 13 Apr 1897 and place of death Queens NY.
