Rita Leona (Jepsen) Ellsworth (1920 - 2007)

Biography

Leona Lassen Ellsworth, 87, of Phoenix, beloved and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-granny passed peacefully and went to join her Heavenly Father on July 18, 2007. She was at home surrounded by her family who loved and admired her. She taught us all a life lesson on how to accept your blessings and trials with dignity and humor. She had an infectious smile and a giving spirit. She will be missed deeply as she was a special gift to all who knew her. She loved her family and friends, she was a good friend.

Preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Vernon H. Lassen, she was a supportive and working partner in the farming business. In 1968 she established a children's clothing store, "Lassen's Small Fry", which she ran for 11 years where she loved being a part of the South Phoenix community.

In 1991, Leona remarried and is survived by her husband, Louis Ellsworth of Globe, Arizona. She is also survived by her three children, Judy Churchill (Gordon) of San Diego, CA, Jerry Lassen (Deanna) of Tucson, AZ and Carolyn Helm (Bruce) of Gilbert, AZ. She was a loving Granny to 8 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She lived for her family and it showed every day.
