Biography

John Jepson was bp 01 Aug 1776 at St. Deiniol, Hawarden Flintshire, Wales. He died of Apoplexy on 6 Jun 1838 in Richmond Surrey England and buried 8 Jun 1838 at St. Mary Magdalene Richmond Surrey England.

John's parents were George Jepson (1741-1813) of Hawarden Flintshire and Mary Clutton (c1740-1818) md 11 Feb 1765 Hawarden. John's patronymic surname is also noted as GEORGE.

John married Mary Barker on 13 April 1801 in St. Saviour, Southwark, Surrey, England

In newspaper articles reporting John & Mary's marriage and dau Mary's marriage to Fox, John is referred to as '...of Hawarden'

John Jepson is shown to be in Wellingborough Northants by 1810. He figures in a list of contributors published on page 2 of the Northampton Mercury 04 August 1810 , headed 'A Case of Real Distress'. John gave 2/6d. to a fund raised by the townspeople to assist Jane Hornsey the widow of Thos. HORNSEY who was killed in his bed by lightning leaving 4 small children.
