Biography

Married Sarah Padgett at Lambley, Notts on 14th May 1854. He was a labourer and son of Robert Jepson, also a labourer. Her father, William Padgett, was also a labourer. Pauline Walters great-great-grandparents. It is difficult to read, but an Ann Jephson appears to have been a witness at the wedding. Marriage certificate available. He died at the Basford Workhouse at Bulwell, Notts on 1st January 1909, Nottingham, 3/1909, aged 81 years therefore born about 1828 (SH 7b 266). He (sometime Jepson) was born at Arnold, Notts, son of Robert Jephson (sometime Jepson) and Ann née Marriott. He was a retired agricultural labourer of Woodborough. His daughter, Eliza Vann was present at the death. Pauline Walters. (Death certificate on file).
