Biography

Lucy Jerome was born on October 6, 1883 in Clayton, Iowa, USA, the fourth child of Charley (transcribed "Ohrarley") Jerome and Frances Glyenn Jerome. Lucy's father and mother, both born in Iowa, were aged 25 and 24 respectively when she was born.^[1]

Lucy Jerome can be found at the age of 17 on the 1900 US census for Vieregg Twp., Merrick County, Nebraska, along with her parents, Charles and Francis Jerome, and two siblings. According to the census, her parents had been married for 23 years. Francis is shown to have given birth to six children, all of whom were still alive when the census was taken.

Lucy Beetem ("Beltern") , her husband Benjamin and their four children can be found in two different locations on the 1920 census, enumerated about two months apart. The first, enumerated on January 19, 1920, the family on the 1920 US census for ED 158, Central, Merrick County, Nebraska.

The second 1920 census, enumerated about two months later on March 25, 1920 finds Lucy and Benjamin Beetem ("Bectern") with their four children, James, Leonard, Edna and Marjorie in ED 157, Lone Tree, Merrick County, Nebraska.
