Biography

Agnes, a domestic servant, remained single but her death was reported by James McKelvie - son-in-law.

1827: Foulford: John? Roun (Rowan?) & Agnes Jess had a daughter born 11th July & Baptised 3rd October Grace McLean.

1851: Reported as an unmarried 46 year old Agricultural Labourer living in Old Dailly Ayrshire with her son Mathew Drynan 9 years old born Stranraer, and nephew Edward Coil/Coyle 10 years old born Glasgow.

1871: Reported as a 67 year old Housekeeper at Penkill Castle, Ayrshire. A position previously held by her then deceased sister Grace until her death in 1866.

1876: Died at the home of her daughter Grace and son-in-law James McKelvie in York Street, Newton, Ayr.
