Research Notes

Researcher Disputes

Pat Friesen and Ray Parker of the Jester list about Thomas's age. Ray said 1686, but he marries in 1690, Pat says 1672 which would put him as age 18, which I feel is too young. I feel closer between 1666 and 1668 age 22-24 as being closer. Also, if he is on the Quit-Rents list of 1704 he would have to have been of a majority. Also, since his father died in 1690 and no guardianship bond has been established, also indicates an age of majority.

Space: Identified First Three Generations of Richard Jester

This piece of convo was between the list manager and another member who claimed that Ryley and Arnell and 2 more were the sons of this Thomas, son of Richard. The Will proves they are not. They aren't mentioned. At one point, the List Manager combined them. At best, they might be the sons of Mary, "heirs of my daughter Mary." Nothing has been found of Mary after the will of her grandmother where she recieves a set of silver toothpicks.

"Thomas is the same Thomas who's will was probated 2 Feb 1753 Kent Co., DE. For now I am combining them but I am still not sure they are one and the same. Ryley was definitely not mentioned in the will. Thomas left a will probated 2 Feb 1753 Kent Co., DE mentions daus: Barbara, Elizabeth, Sarah, Ann Mann, Esther Winsmore, heirs of dau Mary; sons: Thomas, Joshua, Daniel, Joseph, Jonathon, Jacob, Abraham, Isaac, Richard, John. " Do you have a copy of or the location I can find the will of Thomas d. 1753. I can not find his will. I find a Thomas d. 1758 married to a Catharine. Any idea. The link you have on wiki is broken.

Mary was by his first wife. She is mentioned in Frances's will, along with Margaret dau of Samuel, who married his adopted son Japtha Perry. My mistake, Jeptha was adopted by Perry.
