She was born about 1790 and her parents were Elizabeth (Roland) and Horatio Jeter.
By 1810 Harriett JETER had married Edmund W. ESTES.

- Caroline County, VA Chancery suit in Horatio Jeter estate, 1814: "Samuel Jeter, administrator of Horatio Jeter, vs. Elizabeth Jeter, widow of Horatio Jeter. Elizabeth Jeter states that her husband, Horatio Jeter, died in Nov 1814 and that Samuel Jeter was granted administration. Samuel Jeter states that his father's Will left the whole estate to his wife, Elizabeth Jeter, for her lifetime. At her death, the estate was to go to his two sons, viz. Samuel Jeter and Ira Jeter and to his daughters, Nancy Jeter and Harriet Jeter and to his grandson, William Estes. He also states that Nancy Jeter is Nancy Thomson, the wife of James Thomson and Harriet Jeter is Harriet Estes, mother of William Estes. 1820" in JETER forum
