JEWELL.—On the 26th January, at his son-in-law's residence, Carag Carag, Samuel Teague Jewell, a native of Cornwall, England, and a colonist of 52 years, aged 77 years.

OBITUARY.
A highly respected and well known resident of the district, in the person of Mr Samuel Teague Jewell, passed away at his son-in-law's (Mr S. Hicks) residence, Carag Carag, on Monday last, the cause of death being diabetes. At one time deceased resided in the Wanalta district, where he held land, but he quitted this to take up his trade of plasterer, which he continued to follow until about twelve months prior to his death, when his complaint asserted itself. Deceased, who was 77 years of age, was a native of Cornwall, England, and a colonist of 52 years. The remains were interred at Rushworth on Tuesday, the Rev. Richardson performing the funeral obsequies. A memorial service will be conducted in the Carag Methodist Church on Sunday next, at 11 a.m.
He was buried at Rushworth Cemetery (Plot: Methodist, Section 5, Grave 171), Rushworth, Campaspe Shire, Victoria, Australia.
