1915: Charles William Jewsbury, 1897 of the Leicestershire Regiment, aged 20, son of Thomas & Annie Jewsbury of 26 Bakewell Street Coalville Leicestershire England, died Sun 06 Jun 1915 and was buried in Lindenhoek Chalet Military Cemetery, Gremmerslinde, 8956 Heuvelland, Belgium [5].
1915: Charlie operated a machine gun; he was killed on the slopes of Spanbroekmolen (Hill 76) on the Messines Ridge in Belgium by a large shell and died almost at once. There are two memorials: one on the clock tower at Coalville and one at Christ Church, Coalville[6].
