Born in 1950 at Sacramento, CA. Father was in the Navy at the time. My parents were young and poor, but did the best they could.

My sister, Carol was born four years later, we are very close. Our mother, Pat lives with her and has for many years.

We moved around a lot when my sister and I were growing up. We settled in Garden Grove, CA with our step-dad, Ed Brown and three half-brothers. I was able to attend Jr. High school and then all of high school at Orange High School in Orange, CA.

I met my first husband at the end of our Junior high. After we graduated we were married. My husband joined the Air Force and we were stationed at Vandenberg Air Force Base for the next four years. Both of my children were born on the base, at the base hospital.

My husband and I divorced about 1976.

I met my current husband Jim in 1982, we were married in 1983 and have been together for 36 years and counting.

I worked as a typist, bookkeeper, and office manager for several employers for many years until my husband asked me to retire to care for his ill mother, who was widowed and living alone. It was a wonderful opportunity to truly get to know her and we became great friends.

My hobbies are really too many to list and change according to whims. But, I love gardening, animals, making sweets, sewing, crochet, photography, arts and crafts and organizing stuff. I'm a little OCD! LOL

Hi Cheryl,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one or more which best fit your research focus. Review the project pages for special guidelines and to learn how to collaborate with the project members.

Let me know if you have trouble finding projects which fit your focus. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.
