Over the past year, Australia Project members have been more active on Discord. We're finding it a fun way to communicate as a project. It's a great way to communicate with other members on your project team/s, or for any general questions.

We're always happy to receive any ideas or suggestions that you have to make our project even better.

This is just to touch base with you as you may not be aware that Project Australia has been restructuring some of our Teams, specifically what was under "Profile Improvers". We've decided to split into four related but separate teams underneath the "umbrella" of Profile Improvement: namely, Sourcerers, Data Doctors, Biography Builders, and Connectors & Arborists. As your name is on the current Improvers Team member list, we've placed you on the teams as indicated by your stated interests (or all of them if nothing is indicated). If you'd like to continue as things are, there's no need to respond in any way (although you are more than welcome to do so). If you'd like to change, add, or subtract a team (or teams), you could let us know which one or more of the new Teams you'd like to continue with going forward by replying to this message, editing in (or out) your area(s) of interest on the relevant page(s), or contacting me by private message (or on discord — where each Team now has its own channel on the WikiAustralia server). Hi Ella! There's an option "Build Source Citation" in the WikiTree Sourcer extenstion that works well to avoid having the ref tags beneath the references tag. See the explanation here: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:DBE_868

If you would like to stay in the project, please reply to this message or send me a private message to let us know that you would like to stay on. Alternatively, if your WikiTree and research interests have moved away from Australia, please let us know and we can remove you from the membership list for the moment. You will, of course, be very welcome to rejoin the project down the track whenever you want to.

We are also keen to know if you want to make any changes to the team or teams that you want to focus on. Take a look on Australia Project Teams to see what teams there are to choose from. If you want to discuss this, or have any questions or suggestions about the Australia Project we'd love to hear your ideas.

Hi Elle, please check these cemetery categories you created yesterday at South Kolan and Miva. If any links show as red they need to be fixed. In both cases the location categories didn't yet exist and must be created. Also, the parent parameter on the CIB is the state, in this case Queensland, otherwise the parent category is also incorrect and shows as a red link. Both have been corrected.

The Australia project has a page for category requests, Australian Categories Waiting to be Added or Renamed. You are more than welcome to add any category requests to that page.

If you click your green tags it will show you member's who are also following that tag, if you tag shows only you on the list then the tag needs to be revied or split into two tags, you can have 20. Add green tags for family and other surnames, only use surnames as the system is based on surnames. You can also add tags for locations or interests - explore the project link for these.  Tags link you to the community sourcing & research options, to add more tags (you can have 20) go to  https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Special:Following  You can find more information about tags here: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Tags
