Biography

James Sprague Jobe … known as Jim … was born in New Zealand about 24th September 1931, son of Henry Jobe and Eveline Coxhead.

Jim married Shirley [??] about 1954, and the couple had four known children.

Jobe, James Sprague (Jim) – Passed away peacefully at Bob Owens Retirement Village Hospital, Tauranga on Sunday, 2nd March, 2014. Aged 82 years. Most dearly loved husband of Shirley for 60 years and dearly loved father and father-in-law of Sylvia and Terry, David and Lynne, Robin and Lynley, Alan and Debbie. Cherished grandad and grandpa of Craig and Rexine, Darren, Simon (deceased), James and Emma, Aidan and Ethan, Hope and Joseph. Special great-grandpa of Amelia. Dearly loved brother and brother-in-law of Yvonne and Barry Corlett. Grateful thanks to staff at Kingswood Resthome, Dr Greg Dunn and the Special Care Unit and Hospital staff at Bob Owens Retirement Village, Tauranga for their loving care of Jim.

A celebration of Jim's life will be held at the St Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Meura Street, Matamata on Thursday, 6th March, at 1.30pm. The funeral then leaving for the Matamata Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated for Alzheimers NZ (Waikato Branch), they can be left at the service or posted to PO Box 5720, Hamilton 3242.
