He is the son of Carl Jockisch and Elizabeth Rohn. Funeral services for Mr. J. Victor Jockisch, who died at his home here Friday afternoon, will be held at the Congregational church on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock following short services at the home at 1020 Washington street at 2:00 o'clock with Rev. A. E. Beddoes, pastor of the Congregational church officiating. Interment will be made in City Cemetery with the Masons in charge.

OBITUARY

John Victor Jockisch, son of Wm. Jockisch and Elizabeth Rohn-Jockisch was born on a farm southeast of this city. At the age of nine he moved to Beardstown where he attended the public schools and later the Jacksonville Business College where he graduated. He worked as a boy for Henry Unland in the grocery business and later for Kuhl Brothers in the dry goods business until he became a partner in the Phil Kuhl and Jockisch dry goods business which partnership continued for 41 years, the business being known as "The Model". After Mr. Phil Kuhl retired from the business Mr. Jockisch was sole proprietor of "the Model" for ten years, retiring in 1919. On June 1, 1893, he was united in marriage in Springfield, Illinois, to Miss Johanna Jockisch also of this city, and to this union one child , Mrs. Zelma Jockisch was born who with the wife survive him. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Marjorie Ice, age 12, Barbara Ice, age 11 and Noel Victor Ice, 3 and one-half years, together with one sister, Mrs. Tom Brines of Pleasant view and two nieces, Mrs. Florence Brines-Strong of Pleasant view, Mrs. Rosa Brines-Tribbey of Rushville and one nephew, Russell Henning of Beardstown. Four sisters have preceded him in death, Mrs. Anna Allard, Mrs. Rosa Henning, Mrs. Addie Jockisch and one who died in infancy. The deceased was a man of upright character and integrity and a man who held the highest respect of those with whom he was associated. he was an especially kind father and husband, always devoting himself to the happiness of his family. Mr. Jockisch had been director of the First National Bank of this city for the past thirty years. He was a member of the Congregational church here and was a prominent member of Masonic Order belonging to the Cass Lodge A. F. and A. M. Clark Chapter R. A. M., Council, No. 88 and Royal and Select Masons here, the Knight Templers at Rushville and the Ansar Shrine and the Consistory at Springfield. Mr. Jokisch was taken ill last June and was taken to the St. John's hospital for treatment. He was brought to his home and later taken back to the hospital in Springfield where he submitted to an operation on September 12th. Everything possible was done for his relief but to no avail and while he had seemingly been improved he was taken suddenly worse this week, succumbing Friday October 23rd.
