Biography

Omund was born in Vats.^[1]

He came to Landråk in Nedstrand in 1710, and is mentioned there several times between 1711 and 1731.^[1]

He was married to Siri Olsdatter, who died before 1711.^[1] Their children were:

• Rannveg, born 1673 in Imsland, died unmarried in 1736^[1]
• Helga, lived at Roaldsvik under Prestegarden^[1]
• Johannes, born 1685, lived at Maurland^[1]
• Ola, born 1690, lived at Leiranger^[1]

Three of his children were living at Landråk with him in 1711.^[1]

In 1714, he was sentenced for having slept with Sissel Eilivsdatter, a beggar woman with a small child.^[1]

Omund died in 1737.^[1]

Research Notes

According to Nedstrand 1, Omund Johanson Landråk from Vats has only one possible correspondent in the 1701 census for Vats: O.J., who was a cottager at Bredal H3 in Vats, and had sons Johannes and Ola.^[1]

Nedstrand 1 has his birth year as 1644. Soga om Vats has his birth year as 1661.^[1]
