Biography

Vital Records of Karl "Carl" Eskil Johnson: Carl was born in Kulla, Uppsala, Sweden on 11 Apr 1894. He is the fourth born child and son of Karl Johanson and Lovisa Josephina Andersdotter. He married Hazel Marguerite Lenn, the daughter of Charles Lenn and Mary E. (?). Hazel was b. in Kansas City, Wyandotte, Kansas on 20 Mar 1895. They were married in Lawrence, Kansas on 4 Jun 1917. They had two children together, both born in Kansas City. Carl Eskil (jr.) b. Feb 1918; Clayton R. b. 15 Jun 1919. Carl died in Kansas City on 10 Feb 1965.

Census, Land, and Court Records, and other Historical Artifacts of Karl "Carl" Eskil Johnson: In Sep 1904, Carl first came to North America at age 10, aboard the steamship S. S. Canada.[1] The Johanson Family History record shows that Carl's father (Karl) was installed as pastor of a church in Kansas City, close to where Carl settled. In the (20 Jan) 1920 Federal Census, Carl was living In Kansas City, Jackson, Missouri. The recorded address is a rental home at 1016 Ohio Ave. In his household are wife Hazel, at age 24; and sons Carl Jr. at age 1y 11m and Clayton R. at age 6m. At that time Carl was 25.[2] In the (20 Jan) 1930 Federal Census, Carl was still living In Kansas City. The recorded address was his own home at 228 Sixteenth Ave. In his household are wife Hazel, at age 35; and sons Carl Jr. at age 11 and Clayton R. at age 10. At that time Carl was 35.[3] In the (13 Apr) 1940 Census, taken at Delaware Twp, east of Edwardsville Rd., Wyandotte, Kansas; Carl was living with wife Hazel. Both were at age 45.[4] On April 25, 1942, Carl was still living in Edwardsville. His name and place of residence are listed on brother Ernest's WW II Draft Registration Card. Carl is shown as the "person who will always know your address".[5] The Johanson Family History documents states that Carl died in Kansas City. The Social Security Death Index indicates that he died in (Kansas City?) Missouri.[6]
