Julia was born in Utah in 1886. She was the daughter of John Johanson and Maria Larsson. Her mother died when she was five years old and she grew up having to work hard to help support her family. In 1906 Julia married Jacob Peter Hansen and together they were parents of nine children. They farmed and pioneered near Holbrook, Idaho. They retired to Logan, Utah where Julia passed away in 1966 at age 79. She is buried beside Jacob in Bear River City, Utah.
