Lena was born at the maternity hospital in the town of Halmstad, Halland as the daughter of Lars Svensson and Barbro Johansson. She grew up in Hylte municipality in the county of Halland and the province of Småland, Sweden. From 1976 - 1983 the family lived at Segelsbo, then they moved to Villa Ekebo in the town of Hyltebruk. In 1990 they took over the home of Lars's parents; Bexet Södergård where Lena lived until she left home in 1995.

She became interested in history and genealogy early but it was not until 1998 that her research really took off.

Today she lives on the west coast in the province of Halland with her partner and their daughter. She is an English and history teacher grades 7-9. Apart from genealogy her hobbies are reading, scrapbooking and photography.

Lena has roots in the following provinces(counties) and parishes in Sweden

  • Västergötland (Älvsborg and Skaraborg)- Gällstad, Gullered, Södra Ving, Tvärred, Hällstad, Sandhem, Utvängstorp, Vistorp, Dalstorp, Grönahög, Länghem, Marbäck, Södra Säm, Norra Åsarp, Slöta

Famous Ancestors

Lena is a descendant of Erik Vasa (Erik XIV Vasa, king of Sweden), he is her 13th great grandfather.

Hi, Lena! Glad you volunteered for the Connectors. To help, start by picking a Swedish unconnected family on the list which is in the middle of Connectors Chat Page. You may want to try with a family in the area you are most familiar with. The game is, of course, to connect it to the global tree (I see that you are connected). You only need to connect one profile of the unconnected branch to one profile of the connected tree and that should connect the whole branch. You may start by running an Error report on the branch you are trying to connect. Personnally I use the DB error reports a lot when connecting. There are tips at the bottom of the page. Please contact me if this is confusing, or Carol, Paula or Greg would all be pleased to help you. Good luck! Isabelle.
