Biography
August was born on December 1, 1837 in Ödeshög parish, Östergtland, Sweden. He worked as cobbler.
He married Josefina Albertina Fallgren from Hammar parish in Örebro län on February 21, 1864.
They had three children: Carl August b. 1866 (died as toddler), Anna Sofia b. 1867 and Sigrid Josefina b. 1876.
Their daughter Anna Sofia emigrated to the US in 1884, and the rest of the family followed in 1888.
