Jehu John, son of Griffith John and Rachel Miller, was born on 22 November 1838 in Allen County, Ohio, United States.

Jehu wed Mary Catherine (Clark) Crites (1841–1929) in 1858. They had the following children together:

  1. Samuel Mitchell John, 1860–1935;
  2. Iva (John) Breese, 1862–1943.

Jehu John entered military service on 8 August 1862; he belonged to Company E. 99th Ohio Infantry.

Jehu John died at 25 years of age on 20 June 1864 in Kennesaw, Cobb County, Georgia. He was laid to rest at Marietta National Cemetery, Marietta, Cobb County, Georgia, USA. [1]
