___________________________________ From our family historian: "Ruth Johnson was a member of The South River Meeting House in Bedford Co., VA . Was disowned after her marriage to William Mickle. She was denied reinstatement in 1796 probably in NC. Was later reinstated, no record as to what year, but she is buried in the Deep Creek MM burial grounds, Surry, NC" 03/14/2005 from Rose: "Here is a map of Surry Co., NC (in file) shows where Wiliiam and Clara Mickles were in 1768 and before , at Shallow Ford . This is were John Mikels in 1768, was born as well as William & Thomas later. There is a record in The Morovian Church records in their early settling in Surry Co., mentions a Mr. Michcoll stopped by in 1752 or 1753. (C)ould this be the John Sr & Ann whom I'm looking for. I'm thinking these early Mickles were trappers and hunters and they probably knew the Boone's and Bryan's and may even gone on hunting parties with them."
