Mabel (Johnson) Menefee is a part of US Black heritage.

Mabel Virginia Johnson was born on 20 Oct 1904 in Jackson Township, Pike County, Ohio, United States of America. She was the daughter of Christopher Johnson and Grace Anderson.[1] She grew up in Jefferson Township, Ross County, Ohio with her family.[2] [3]

Mabel married Frederick Menefee on 21 Dec 1920.[4] They had seven children and two foster sons.[5] In 1930 and 1940 their family lived in Chillicothe, Ross County, Ohio. Frederick was a janitor at a paper mill. In 1930, they were living with Mabel's sister Laura and her family.[6][7] Mabel was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church.[5]

Mabel died on 16 Sep 1978 at the age of 73 in the Medical Center Hospital in Chillicothe, Ross County, Ohio.[5] She was buried in Grandview Cemetery in Chillicothe.[8]
