  • From John Maltby:
Sarah Johnson, second daughter of Rebecca Washburn and Capt. David Johnson, born in Bridgewater, MA, on 19 July 1732,[1] baptized on 23 July 1732 in West Bridgewater,[2] married Joseph Packard (Jr.), son of Joseph and Mary (Willis) Packard,[3] on 27 Dec. 1748 in Bridgewater.[4] He was baptized on 30 May 1725 in West Bridgewater,[5] a grandson of Ensign Samuel and Elizabeth (Lathrop) Packard (Jr.),[6] and of John and Mary (Brett) Willis (3rd).[7]

Joseph Packard (Jr.) served in the French & Indian War under General Winslow in 1755, and he died in Easton, MA,[231] presumably before 1790. He was not a head of household in Easton, MA, in the 1790 federal census.

Sarah Johnson and Joseph Packard (Jr.) had children:[232]

1662 i Daniel5 Packard, baptized on 8 Oct. 1749 in West Bridgewater,[233] possibly married Elisabeth Colloney, of Easton, on 12 Aug. 1773 in Bridgewater.[234] Daniel Packard was not a head of household in Bristol or Plymouth Co., MA, in the 1790 federal census.

1663 ii Anna Packard, baptized on 6 Oct. 1751 in West Bridgewater.[235]

  • Elijah Packard, baptized on 9 Dec. 1754 in West Bridgewater.

1665 iv Abigail5 Packard, baptized 18 July 1756 in West Bridgewater,[237] possibly the “Abigill” Packard of Easton who married Jacob “Whitmon,”of Easton, on 3 Apr. 1777 in Easton.[238] He was probably the Jacob “Whitmore,” son of John and Jean (Chaplin) “Whitmore” (Whitman), of Easton,[239] who was born on 28 Nov. 1753 in Easton.[240] The surname was actually Whitman, as evidenced by the birth records of Jacob’s siblings.[241] Jacob Whitman or Whitmore was not a head of household in Massachusetts in the 1790 federal census, and no children were recorded to Jacob Whitman in Easton.

1666 v Bethiah5 Packard, baptized 24 Sept. 1758 in West Bridgewater,[242] possibly the Bethiah Packard who married Simeon Records on 27 Nov. 1777 in Easton.[243] Simeon Records was not a head of household in Massachusetts in the 1790 federal census, and no children were recorded to Simeon Records in Easton.

1667 vi Martha5 Packard, baptized on 24 Aug. 1760 in West Bridgewater,[244] possibly the Martha Packard who married Joseph Lathrop on 26 Dec. 1781 in Easton.[245]

1668 vii Job Packard, baptized on 19 Sept. 1762 in West Bridgewater,[246] marriage not found.

Hi cousin! This profile looks to be confusingly similar--and yet not--to her sister with the exact same name, Sarah (Johnson) Packard (1732-1815). Her sister looks more in line with the birth dates of the rest of the family, do you think this one belongs to a different David Johnson's family in the previous generation (especially given that also her age is too close to that of her dad's)?
