Biography

William Newton Johnson b. 1825 d. 1865 22nd SCV CSA Captured at Petersburg July 30, 1864. Taken to Lookout Point as POW and transfered to Elmira.

Corporal W. Newton Johnson, Corporal, Company C, 22nd Regiment, South Carolina Infantry.[1] He served under 3rd Lieutenant Washington Johnson.
