Biography
Thomas was born in 1861, the son of Robert and Jane, and baptised at Carbrooke on 6 October 1861[1].
At the age of nine he was already working as an agricultural labourer[2].
He married Mary Ann Edwards at Carbrooke on 15 October 1885[3]. Based on census records they had at least six children.
By 1859 they had moved to Sutton Bridge in Lincolnshire, where their daughter Evelyn Frances was born. He was working as a 'Railway Servant'.[4]
