Joseph was born in 1850 or 1851. He was the son of Benjamin Johnson and Elizabeth Grisham. While a family tree on Ancestry.com identifies his birthdate as 1 July 1850 [1] , the 1850 census which was taken in October 1850, does not show a baby Joseph Johnson in the household. [2] Joseph married Martha Louvanda Brasher in sometime before 1873 when their eldest child was born. [3][4] Joe passed away in 1922.
