Biography

Isaac Johnson was born at Schodack, New York, on 9 March 1813, a son of Jacob Johnson and Cornelia Nichols.[1] He was baptized in the Reformed Dutch Church of Schodack, New York, on 11 April 1813.[2]

His wife was Sarah Maria [Loucks].

The 1850 U.S. Census recorded Isaac Johnson in Schodack, Rensselaer County, New York, with the following household members: Isaac Johnson 37, Sarah M Johnson 37, Charity A Johnson 11, George W Johnson 9, Lewis L Johnson 7, Normon Johnson 5, John L A Johnson 2. Isaac was a laborer, reporting $1400 in real estate. All household members were born in New York.[3]

The New York State Census of 1855 recorded 43-year-old Isaac Johnson and his 43-year-old wife Sarah M. Johnson in Schodack, Rensselaer County, New York. Family members were all born in Rensselaer County. Others on the same census sheet include Jacob and Sarah Schermerhorn, both 44, and their children; Joel and Lavina Dawson, ages 60 and 52, and their children; and John and Elisa Mesick, both 47, and their children. He died 21 March 1860 and is buried in Nassau-Schodack Cemetery, Nassau, Rensselaer County, New York.[5]
