George was born in 1865. His parents were Charles Johnson and Elizabeth Morley.[1] He was christened on 5 June 1864 at Whittington, Derbyshire.[2]
His family moved to Yorkshire and in 1871 he was living with his parents and siblings at Low Valley, Darfield, Yorkshire. His father was an Agricultural Labourer.[3]
In 1881 the family lived at 15 Barnsley Road, Wombwell, Yorkshire, Both George and his father were general labourers.[4]
He married Margaret Hetherington on 25 December 1888 at Wombwell, Yorkshire.[5].
George and Margaret lived with their children at 15 Pearson's Field, Wombwell, Yorkshire. George worked in the local coal mines.[6][7][8]
