Ashley was born 15 Feb 1853 in Burlington, Vermont, the son of Myron Johnson and Mercy Sterns, who then resided in Williston, Vermont. [1]
After his father died in 1860, Ashley appears to have resided in Williston with his uncle John Johnson. [2] By 1880, Ashley was a crockery merchant residing in Burlington. [3]
Ashley married 01 Jun 1881 in Burlington, Vermont to Martha F. "Mattie" Post, [4] and they adopted a daughter named Vida. [5]
Ashley died 17 Nov 1919 in Rutland, Vermont [6] and is buried in the East Cemetery in Willistion. [7]
