Harrison B. Johnson married Dicey Bartran on 21 July 1860 in Boyd County, Kentucky. They were married by Joseph T. Crow at the house of Peter Rippatoe. Witnesses to the ceremony were Peter and Elizabeth Rippatoe.[2]

Harrison Johnson served in the Civil War in the 14th Kentucky Regiment Infantry. [3][4][5] His Civil War Pension card shows he also served in Co I, 53rd Kentucky Infantry. [6]

Harrison Johnson married Jerusha Ellen Dilts on 24 October 1865 in Boyd County, Kentucky.

He was listed in the 1870 census of Boyd County, Kentucky as H. Johnson, age 26, b KY with wife Rusia, age 25 b VA and their children (all born KY): Elizabeth, age 5; Louisa, age 2; and a female name indecipherable, age1. They were living next door to Harrison's mother Elizabeth who was the wife of Peter Ripitoe. [7]
