His parents were Harve Johnson and Sallie Johnson. (sic William Harvey Johnson and Sarah Caudill) Abisha was buried in the Matthew Tackett Cemetery.[1][2]
He served in the Confederate Army during the Civil War as a Pvt in Co. E, 13th Kentucky Cavalry. (His grave has a military gravestone.)[3]Abisha Johnson applied for a pension for military service in the Civil War on 14 Oct 1912 at Rail, Floyd, Kentucky. [4]
