Biography

The Kentucky death certificate for Abisha Johnson shows he was 88 years old at the time of his death on Feb 6, 1926 at Melvin, Floyd County, Kentucky. His parents were Harve Johnson and Sallie Johnson. (sic William Harvey Johnson and Sarah Caudill) Abisha was buried in the Matthew Tackett Cemetery.^[1][2]

He served in the Confederate Army during the Civil War as a Pvt in Co. E, 13th Kentucky Cavalry. (His grave has a military gravestone.)^[3]Abisha Johnson applied for a pension for military service in the Civil War on 14 Oct 1912 at Rail, Floyd, Kentucky. ^[4]
