HENRY JOHNSON OBITUARY[1]
Henry Ray Johnson, a former resident of White Salmon and currently of Manteca, Calif., died in Mill A on July 2, 2001, at the age of 71.
Mr. Johnson was born in Seattle to Rolf Morris and Deta Marie (Unruh) Johnson on May 14, 1930. As a young boy, he moved to White Salmon and it was here that he was raised. In 1954, he met and married Donna Lee Thomas in White Salmon. They moved to California in 1959.
Mr. Johnson became a chocolate maker for Guittard Chocolate Company and worked there until his retirement in 1993.
He loved fishing, bowling and tinkering with old radios and TVs.
Mr. Johnson is survived by his daughters Deta Hower, Brighton, Colo., Shari O'Connor, Canton, S.D., and Catherine Murray, Manteca, Calif.; sister Betty Hunsaker, White Salmon; brothers Dale Johnson, Clatskanie, Ore., and Morris Johnson, Seattle; uncle Darrell Unruh, Illwaco; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Donna.
A memorial service was held on Friday, July 6, 2001, at 3 p.m. at Gardner Chapel in White Salmon, with Rev. Jean Erb officiating.
Inurnment was at White Salmon Cemetery.
