OBITUARY. Death of Mrs Jas. Fleay, sen. It is our painful duty this week to chronicle the death of Mrs. James Fleay, sen., which sad event took place at her residence (Oakover) on Monday night last, after a long and painful illness. The immediate cause of death was dropsy. The funeral took place on Tuesday afternoon, the deceased lady's remains being followed to their last resting-place in the little cemetery at Gilgering by a large number of the principal settlers and residents of the town and district. The pallbearers were Messrs. C. Edwards, J.P, S. Hyde, J. Hicks and H. Monger. At the Church a very impressive service was conducted by Canon Groser, and appropriate hymns were rendered, Mrs. Groser presiding at the Organ. The coffin was covered with beautiful wreaths sent from friends of the deceased, who was held in very high esteem. Much sympathy is expressed for Mr. Fleay and family in their great bereavement. The deceased was in her 57th year. The funeral arrangements were successfully carried out by Mr. Geo Wansbrough.

Death of Spouse: 19 Nov 1897, York, Western Australia, Australia
