Thomas L. Johnston was born on 25 Jul 1818 in Indiana County, Pennsylvania, United States.

Thomas died on 20 Feb 1901 in Grant Township, Indiana County, Pennsylvania, United States, aged 82. He was buried in Pine Grove Cemetery, Rochester Mills, Indiana County, Pennsylvania.[1] [2]

Thomas married Isabella (Doty) Johnston (born on 3 Jun 1821 in Derry Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, United States) in 1841 in Indiana County, Pennsylvania. Their known daughter was Elizabeth J. (Johnston) Langham (1844–1919).
