Biography

James, known as Jim, was born in Belfast in 1923, the son of William Johnston and Lydia Clarke.[1]

In 1943 he married Dorothy Routley in Newport, Wales, having met her during the war. Their 3 children were born in Newport but in the mid 1950s they moved to Belfast. They then returned to Newport about 1960.[2]

Jim passed away in Cwmbran, Monmouthshire, Wales in 1999.[3]
