Biography

George Johnston was the first son born to John and Eliza (Vaughan) Johnston. He was born and grew up in Birkenhead, Auckland. In the 1911 NZ Electoral Role, George is listed as a "gentleman", living in Birkenhead. George Married Henrietta Edith Cole in 1916. By 1923 he was living in Pukekohe. In the 1925 Electoral Roll, George was listed in the Franklin electorate, and his occupation is noted as Farmer, with a residence in Pukekohe East. George died in 1948. He is buried with his wife's family members at Our Lady of the Sea Star Cemetery in Howick, Auckland, New Zealand.
