James was likely the son of Valentine Johnston and Rebecca Robinson, who were maternal first cousins (surname See.) More research is required. Valetine is buried at the William Robinson Cemetery in Conesville, Coshocton, Ohio, among the Robinsons. Also buried there is a Kimberly, good hint there’s some relation. There is a note in regards to Conesville in one of the Fortune documents also. https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/158564253/valentine-johnston
