Biography

William was born about December 1761 and christened on the 9 January 1762 in Glenbervie, Kincardineshire, Scotland to William Johnston.[1]

On the 5 November 1788 at St Cyrus, Kincardineshire, Scotland he married Elizabeth Duncan daughter of James Duncan[2]

They had ten children:

Charles Johnston
Jane Johnston
Elizabeth Johnston
William Johnston
Robert Johnston
Robert Johnston
Alexander Johnston
Margaret Johnston

On the 29 April 1808 they were living at Bowes, Ecclesgreig, St Cyrus, Kincardineshire, Scotland. [3]

He passed away before 1845.

Research Notes

Need to find who the mother is. Do know that it is unlikely to be Christian Craig as her William was christened in Montrose.

A check of scotlandspeople and familysearch.org for marriages in Glenbervie for that period of time has failed to find anything suitable.
