Charles Johnston was born in the Colony of New South Wales (1788-1900)

Charles Murtee Johnston was born on 13 April 1886 at Wilcannia, NSW, the son of Arthur Irwin Johnston and Wilhelmina Michaelis.[1][2] Charles was the fourth of 9 children, with five sisters and three brothers.

Charles Murtee Johnston, son of Arthur Irwin Johnston and Wilhelmina Michaelis, married Selina Leckie, daughter of Robert Lekie and Selina Nicholls on 27 September 1911 at Wilcannia, NSW.[3] They had 6 children.

Charles Murtee Johnston enlisted at Jingellic, NSW on 25 March 1942. He was discharged from 22 Battalion VDC as a Private on 10 October 1945.[2]

Charles Murtee Johnston passed away on 3 February 1957 at Tottenham, NSW.[4][5] He was survived by

  • his wife Selina
  • his daughter Minnie.
