In the 1901 Census, 63 year old widow Ann Jane Gold, a farmer born Monaghan, was listed head of her household in Knappagh, Ballybay Rural, Monaghan, Ireland. Her children Charles Alexander and Eleanora Jessie were living at home with her. Her household of 7 people was completed by a boarder and three farm and house workers. [2]
John Johnston, blacksmith of Ballybay, died 14 November 1878. His will is accessible online at PRONI https://apps.proni.gov.uk/WillsCalendar_IE/WillsSearch.aspx. John left his estate to his wife Mary.
