Dawn was the daughter of Harry Johnston and Amarilla McCay.
She married (1) Mr. White. They divorced.
She married (2) Roby Lovelace on June 5, 1934. [1] They had a daughter Romaine.
In 1940, they were living in Portland, Oregon. [2]
Roby died in 1941.
She married (3) William Peseau in June 1949.
She was a long time employee of the Coos Bay Times and The World. In 1967 she was awarded the US Department of the Interior Conservation Service Award by Interior Secretary Stewart Udall.
She died on Jan. 15, 1984.
Dawn Peseau
Reedsport - At her request, no services were conducted for Anna Dawn Peseau, 76, Reedsport.
A long-time employee of the Coos Bay Times and The World, Mrs. Peseau was born Jan. 17, 1907 on Vashon Island, Wash., and died Jan. 15 at Reedsport. She retired in 1975 after 25 years of reporting, photography, feature and editorial work for the World. She had also contributed to the Roseburg News Review and the Reedsport Courier.
Mrs. Peseau's accomplishments include service to federal and state government advisory boards, including the O&C Advisory Board and the Coos Bay District US Bureau of Land Management Advisory Board.
In 1967 Mrs. Peseau was awarded the US Department of the Interior Conservation Service Award by then Interior Secretary Stewart Udall. In 1975 she was given the Golden Torch Award by the Oregon Federation of Business and Professional Women's Club.
Other awards were given by the US Coast Guard, the Bureau of Land Management, Douglas County and by the Port Umpqua Education Association.
Through the years she also received letters of appreciation and accommodation from Sen. Mark Hatfield, former Oregon Gov. Robert Straud, former Rep. Robert Duncan and state, county and local government officials.
Her most treasured award was given to her in 1975 by the Lower Umpqua Tree Planting Committee and the students of Lower Umpqua schools for 25 years of effort toward the Western Douglas County School Children's Tree Planting Program. Mrs. Peseau credited the program for giving her the incentive to work for resource and education issues.
She is survived by her daughter, Romaine (Loveland) Archer of Medford; and a grandson, Steve Archer, attending the Oregon Institute of Technology, Klamath Falls.
The family suggests that memorial donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association or the charity of the donor's choice.
