Biography

Margaret McCrie Johnston was born in Upper Canada in 1856 to Scottish immigrants, Thomas McCrie Johnston and Alice Paterson who settled in Melancthon, Grey county, Canada West.^{[1] [2]} She wed Stephen Franklin Miles O'Flynn with whom she would have six children.

Margaret was an active member of her community Knox Presbyterian Church. She took ill the evening after assisting to prepare the Church's New Year's Eve tea and passed away soon after on the 12th of January at age 39. She was interred at Shelburne Cemetery, Shelburne, Dufferin, Ontario.^[3]
