Ellen Johnston was born about 1852 in Indiana, the daughter of "IRISH" Bob,Robert Johnston and his wife, Mary Elizabeth "Eliza" WAY 1814-1870.

She is interred in White City Cemetery with her family - Father, Robert Johnston; Sister, Rebecca Johnston; and brother Private George Johnston who was killed at the age of 18 in the Civil War in 1862.
