Isobel was probably born in 1829 in Prince Edward Island. Isabelle said age 43 in 1881, but her gravestone said she died at age 55. [1][2]
William Haywood and Isobel Johnstone were married on 28 Mar 1850. [3] In 1881, Isabel was living in the home of her son Thomas W. Haywood, not the home of her husband. The children were divided between the households and the three youngest were with their mother. Isobel died September 20 1885 at age 55. [4][5][6]
Research Notes
John Abberfield Haywood and James Haywood show as her children on some family trees. NO supporting data is supplied. Because I have proven those trees have significant errors, I think calling him her son could be another error.
In the 1881 census, Mary Jane Haywood lived in the same home as Isabella and Thomas. No further record of her has yet been found.
