Lady Janet (Douglas) Johnstone - Chalmers was born in 1650 in Scotland to Lady Henrietta (Gordon) Douglas - Johnstone, age 17, and
James Johnstone, age 25. She married James Chalmers of Dam
in Liberton, Midlothian, Scotland, in 1670 when she was 20 yrs old
She was the sister of Mary (Johnstone) Lindsay, Margaret (Johnstone) Montgomery, Isabel Johnstone, James Johnstone, William Johnstone, John Johnstone, George Johnstone, Henrietta (Johnstone) Carmichael and Anna Johnstone.
