He is the son of Andrew Jolliff and Elizabeth J. Cassiday. His sibling are Susan, Charles, Emma, and Arthur Jolliff. He was also known as Bert Jolliff. Husband of Minnie Lorena Reading, which he married on August 14, 1906 in Marion, Ohio by Rev. Benjamin F. Reading, the brides uncle. He and his wife had two chidren: Thelma M. and Kenneth W.. Bert Jolliff worked on the Erie Railroad Company as a switchman in Marion, Ohio. Also, he later worked and owned a bar in Marion, Ohio. He is of German, English, Irish, and Dutch descent. He died at age 61 yrs, 4 m, and 27 days.
