Nick Jonas was born into a musical family. His parents, both music makers, home schooled he and his siblings in Wyckoff, NJ. He describes his mom as an “awesome” singer, and he should know, his voice is one that got him recognized by talent scouts at the tender age of six.
He began by playing in Broadway shows, like Les Miserables, and Beauty and the Beast.
After recording a Christmas Album with his father is 2004 he would implore his older siblings, Kevin and Joe, to rehearse at home with him.
The rest, they say, is teenage heartthrob history. The trio performed their song “Please Be Mine” for a record exec at Columbia Records and they were signed. In the midst of their developing fame and fortune however, there was a problem with Nick’s health. Soon after they were signed, Nick and his family discovered that he had Type 1 diabetes. Since learning how to handle his illness, Nick has been a spokesperson for awareness and has been a role model for those children living with Diabetes.
